Hi,

I have been playing Evochron Legends for a couple weeks now. Great game, I'm really enjoying it. Thank you.

I realize that I'm new but figured I'll speak up sans formal intoduction and social etiquette, with a few ideas. Please don't think me unfriendly; I hope to get a chance to converse with other members. Right now, however,.... a man with a mission. LOL

I have a few suggestions that may or may not be easily accomplished and/or be desirable to anyone other than myself but while I have a few spare minutes, just thought I'd throw 'em out there (perhaps they've been discussed already... if so, forgive me for not checking the forum content first; I don't have enough time at the moment)

1. I wish the ships had the capacity to install more equipment. The next best thing would be the ability to swap equipment from cargo bays while in flight, but at least 2 more slots would be good.

2. I don't see why the military ships couldn't have 1 or 2 cargo bays. If for nothing else, just to carry additional equipment. (yeah, I guy can't have enough equipment!).

3. It would be useful to have access to system descrpitions, news and commodity values for all systems regardless of where you are.

OK, MIGHT AS WELL GET CRAZY (I can dream, can't I?):

4. It would be more interesting and give more motivation to travel and explore if the cities and planet terrain were more diverse. ( i would be willing to offer/design/sketch an idea or 2) I'm thinking this entails a lot of work and shouldn't even be suggesting this but what the heck.

5. And for the over-achievers on your staff..... The ability to leave your ship while docked at stations etc. and "strech your legs" ala Privateer.

6.Unusual discoveries... Ruins of ancient civilizations on planets, shipwrecks, etc.

Well, as if that wasn't already too much.....that's it.

I checking out some of the previous discussions on this forum when I have more time!

On No. 4, there are a few of us that have built some cities in our spare time, and have pestered Vice to add support for them in a way that allows tagging a specific planet with a specific city model. They all act the same, but look differently. I've release one, and I think the other was done by Accountant. I started one more but I was waiting for others to get into it and my time became short. Maybe in the summer after the school year's out.

As far as different planets, there are so many different textures ingame that I can't offhand recall seeing the same planet twice. That, combined with different haze colors, the possibility of surface water (very rare) and clouds/no clouds, AND five weather options make very few repeats. If it was me, I'd like to see more weather(dust, maybe ash, etc), but the system's awesome as is.

On No.5 there is the option to add in custom models for scenery objects as well, but I think I read somewhere the limit is 5 (Vice?) per sector. Since the planets don't move, you could drop a custom model down and a custom textbox (which is supported also!) I've just never done it.
The problem with most of the custom stuff is that for whatever reason, it seems to prevent a smooth game if you go online. Ship replacements are ok, but if you go to a sector with a custom city, you tend to crash. But, it's a new feature, so maybe it will get better with time.

Anyhow, the options are there, grab the mod kit and start working! The game supports .x formats and you can get just about anything working easily.

Vice responded to that :) Just put the planet name for each location you want to apply a custom city for in the filename, like so (without the brackets):

city[PlanetName].x
citylights[PlanetName].x

To see his own wreck he would have to be on the outside of his ship! How long can a Romulan survive in the vacuum of space without a pressure suit?:P

Not if he is lucky enough to have time to eject his escape pod and if the newbie is realy lucky he can make Romulan see 2 wrecks his ship and his escape pod. LOL :P:P:P:P:P
