Hi All!!
I a confused on the cargo system. New pilot with the Talon ship. Under cargo bay it shows "Slot 1" and its empty. I can can right click my weapon while in the shipyard and it moves to the slot in the cargo bay listing. I can also reinstall the weapon and the Slot 1 shows empty again.
I have read on the forum where every ship is supposed to have 5 cargo bays.
I purchased the tractor beam and went to an asteroid. Using the beam I was only able to store one type of mineral in the cargo bay. Received the message cargo bay is full with other minerals, yet there was only 1 slot listed in the cargo bay.
SO, I went back to the shipyard and thought ok I needed to add more cargo bays. Well it seems like I can't add cargo bays.
So how in the devil do you either increase the slots in the cargo bay or add more cargo bays. I have found no documentation on how to use the shipyard or fix this cargo problem. I have searched the forums with no results. I have also read the straegy guide and it does not cover this either.
Please help.
Thanks

Sounds like you'll just need to modify/upgrade your ship.
To access the shipyard, fly to a docking zone near the top of a station, a carrier hangar, or in the middle of a city with a landing zone on a planet. The automatic tractor beam will engage and your inventory console will be opened. Simply click on Shipyard to open the menu shown in the image above. Descriptions of each frame and ship component are available on the bottom two displays of the menu. Use the scroll bars to toggle through the available options, then click on one to read its description. To design a ship, select a frame from the right side menu then drag and drop it to the middle display (click and hold the mouse button to move the frame of your choice). Next, select the parts you want for your ship. You can toggle through the 5 different ship components by clicking on each one on the bottom left display. Each frame provides a certain level of assembly resources that you use to design your ship. Larger frames provides more assembly resources and offer better shielding/armor, but aren't as maneuverable or as fast and use more fuel. If you design a ship that exceeds the assembly resources available for the frame you selected, the 'Assembly Left:' value at the top will turn red and you'll need to reconfigure your design to stay within the resource limit. Each component will use a certain amount of the assembly resources and will effect various aspects of your ship. Larger fuel tanks will give you more range, larger cargo bays will let you carry more items, more powerful shield cores provide better protection, more powerful engines provide higher speed, and better wing/thruster systems improve agility. You will need to carefully prioritize your design for the features that are most important to you and the role you want to play in the game.
In short, you'll want to select the cargo bay option in the shipyard, then drag and drop the model you want to install on your ship. If you exceed the assembly resource limit, reduce other components in your ship until you get the capacity you want. Larger ships will be able to carry more cargo and other higher class components simultaneously.
If so, that's wrong. Ships will have whatever cargo bay capacity they are designed with.I have read on the forum where every ship is supposed to have 5 cargo bays.
From the Shipyard section in the instructions included with the game:I have found no documentation on how to use the shipyard or fix this cargo problem.

Hello Kingsaver, welcome to the forum and the Sim.
Each ship has to be built up to the maximum cargo bays it is built for. Small ships will be able to have less cargo bays than larger ships.
Each cargo bay can hold (1) type item at a time.
If you can go online pilots can help you in real time to undestand parts of the Sim.
See you out there sometime.

Hi Kingsaver. Welcome to the forum, and the game.
The game does take a bit of getting used to; a steep learning curve, as they say!
I take it, as you are doing mining, that you already have a tractor beam, and you've made a bit of money. When you get to the station, go into F3 and shipyard, there you can see what ships you can afford. You will also notice, on the lower left a bunch of selections: cargo bays, fuel tanks etc.
You'll see an equipment available, or something like that, that will show up either as a white number, or a red one. If white then it shows how much room you have left in your ship to install upgrades. If red then it is telling you that your ship is already at full capacity and can't take any more upgrades.
Also in the shipyard you can update your ship: bigger ships take more upgrades, equipment, missiles.
Incidentally, you'll get the best prices for your mining, plat being the top, in Rivoch station.
Enjoy.

yh, i found that annoying @ first too, i'm quite used to it now, but it still takes a lot of time when my pc decides it dosen't wanna let me play games and therefore slows down to an unbelievable speed
the day has ended, the night is yet to come
light and darkness, opposite sides to the same coin, yet what may do not realize is that this coin holds a third side, a side not of either or the other, but of both, a side of twilight. when light and darkness destroy eachother, there is nothing left but twilight, yet aslong as one or the other exists twilight exists within it, that is both the power and weakness of twilight. i am Ryuu Hakumei, The twilight Dragon.
