does anyone know what the fastest civilian engine/frame setup is? ive tried experimenting and so far speed seems to be limited to about 1050...

The formula for speed is: small frame + large engines.

Don't forget the afterburner. If you want speed, you're going to have to use it.

Top speed for all ships is in the neighborhood of 4K. You can't see speeds higher than this, though it is possible to attain them, as the cannons will no longer fire when you are traveling faster than speeding particles.

yes, but as you get a smaller frame, you get less assembly resources meaning you can't fit the bigger engines on them
oh and what i should have said is the top speed while the ids is on

Go to a War Zone, do some missions, and you can get a military ship, without cargo bays, which will go like the clappers.

For Civilian ships that is the top speed you can get with the right combination. 1050 that is.

The military ship Evoch-C is the fastest of all with a speed of 1200.

1050 is about the highest speed I could get here, too. I think that was with a Pulsar frame (I like going back to my roots occasionally). Not sure if you could do that with a Raven or Pheonix, though. You'd probably use up all of your assembly on the engine alone.

the max for the phoenix is a nice round 1000 with level 10 engines.

i can't remember, but i think i got 1060 last night, shame i had to remake it for mining (can't quite afford hangar fees yet) guess that's it lol anyway, i don't mind using up most of my assembly, if my oponent can barely hit me, who needs sheilds or armor lol

i just managed 1100 with a raptor wing sys too
the fastest i can manage is 1120 and that can fit either a archer wing or class 2 fuel with the left over assembly

i discovered that a few hours ago, i now have templates for lots of diferent ships, a large cargo bay for mining, fast and maneuverable for 1on1 combat, slow but really heavily defended for multi target combat (althogh repair fees can be a bitch) and one with soso armour and speed for exploring when i don't know what i'm gona be up against

unfortunately, i occationally find equipment upgrades while i'm in one of my cheaper ships and then i'm like oh damn, i can't afford to switch to that template now

I stored my Levi template at B5's station in Sapphire ... when I went to retrieve it, the station manager politely told me it couldn't be done. He offered me a free beer, instead.
