Question about MDTS

Post by Manboy no 5 »

Will MDTS allways correctly offset your shots if your target is travelling with no change in speed and direction, or does it have an upper speed limit? AI never hit me with guns if I'm travelling laterally at full speed (about 2000, maybe less, to >4000) even though I'm not altering my speed or direction of travel. I've not tried this with a person; if they were tracking me at this speed would MDTS get them hits?

It all depends on the skill of the Pilot. Some Vonari Aces seem to hit you no matter what you do except if you out run them!
So it partly depends on the skill of the pilot AI or real player.;)

MDTS takes your direction and speed to calculate where to fire. This is why it so easy to fool.
Your lateral movement is not wholly taken into consideration.
So pointing your ship off the direction you're actually travelling will throw it off. Thanks.
