Greetings. I just picked up the x45 as some of you know. i also ran across some other goodies and was wondering if they would work in Evochron Legends? Do you think these other items work as well?
Rudder pedals, yes. You just need to bind controls to it on a separate device slot (click on the left and right arrows at the top of the configure controls menu to switch devices to test for input response and map axis channels). I don't know about the switch panel, but if it installs as a separate device and returns normal button signals, it should work. Your configuration might look something like:
What Vice said is correct. They will all work. The footpedals you may or may not like. Better have a solid chair, nothing on wheels and be prepared for some fancy foot stomping!
I would advise you NOT to buy the switches as they are primaily designed for flight sims.
In the heat of combat, your not likely to take your hand off the controller to flip a switch! Besides, that's the whole Idea of having the X45 so you can progam every necessary key directly to the controller itself.
You can even program the X45 to double as mouse so you won't have to leave it when you navigate those menus!
With an X45, the only thing you need the keyboard for is to chat. With only 26 letters in the Alphabet, it's possible to load them all in the controller as well. You'll just have to remember where they all are!
Good Luck...

A fun and inexpensive controller mod is clamping a keyboard, keys down, to the top of your monitor. You then need to hit buttons over your head to operate your advanced systems. I'd like to see faulty jumpdrives introduced into EL that occasionally require you to hit several keys at once with a balled fist.
some kind of push button repair sequence? that would be interesting. that would add another level to the dogfight
Doing it with a balled fist? I think he's talking about the level that comes just before you kick in your monitor screen and set fire to your computer tower.
