Andromeda

Hi all! so I finally reached andromeda today. I found the obvious items that one sees straight ahead after leaving the wormhole, but I'm puzzled as to what else makes the system so special. I did a close up search of the moon surface and saw nothing interesting...and other than the wormhole leading back to known space... didn't see much else in the system after jumping around quite a bit. Any info would be much appreciated since it was a long trip. The equipment there is great, but I had most of it anyway. I'm also curious, how do you activate the artifact mentioned in the strategy guide? It seemed pretty inert. Thanks!

Thanks guys. I should have brought a tractor beam. I'll have to sacrifice my cannon relay system to make room for it I guess. I was in an Evoch-C with all combat stuff.

Is there any faster way to get straight to andromeda instead of having to go to the riftspace gate and then to Vonarion... etc?? Any shortcuts to vonarion or straight to andromeda? And please don't say "Just fly straight there" haha

In multiplayer there are no shortcuts. But in Single player you could create your own using the custumization kit instructions!

So.. after hunting around the system for quite a while , I found the planet in andromeda.

but I have yet to find anywere to dock. I did find the object in the planet's rings too. I'm curious about this because I seem to remember an announcement in MP about someone completing a contract in andromeda. Is that possible? Where do they come from?

I've already found the big green planet there a month ago....and the platinum dispenser too..... but nothing else there. Nothing strange. :-(

I'm now trying to land on Earth... damn!

I'm tried that landing on that earth thing hundreds of times. HUNDREDS! I'd like to think that occasionally a piece of my ship makes it down there.

As for Andromeda, I had'nt found more than the OP, and when I went there I was ina n Evoch....no cago hold...and I hadn't perfected wormhole jumping yet....it was awful.

Many, many hours bumping around in Andromeda looking for "...more to this system than may appear at first.":(

I also like the nice blue of Andromeda â€“ Very relaxing. Here is a list of the following items discovered:

Transportation Device (have used it to get back to Evochron).

Carrier â€“ With many goodies.

Moon â€“ Nothing.

Green Planet (that does not show up on radar).

Platinum dispenser â€“ Found in the ring of the Green Planet.

There is always the black hole jump you can go. Choice is having a tractor beam or a repair sys. If you don't have any of those equipped....you may face a really hard time....

you don't need a repair sys to go through a wormhole, if you do it right........

Nobody takes my repair system from me. I'm cheap ... just ask Denny how much time we spent yesterday while I loitered in space, making repairs (what's the sense in doing a 200,000 credit contract if you then spend 1,000,000 repairing at a station?).

Guys, I'm not sure if anyone's noticed this, but the guide says "This is one game secret that isn't given away in this guide" but then says "To return home, the artifact left there can be operated to transport you to any of the four sections of the Evochron quadrant", and refers to the containers and replenishable supply (the dispenser and ruined ship) It said it wouldn't give it away, but then it explains what the artifact does and refers to the dispensers!? Then, could it be that the guide is referring to something completely different? Something we haven't noticed before?
