I am new and got through the conflicts by using the forums to get the game running. I have a joystick logitech extreme 3d pro however I am having trouble to getting to reassign the buttons. I found the key mapping in the control settings. However when I click on a category it removes the keyboard binding and does not let me reassign or does not let me edit the joystick buttons. Like afterburner is set for tab key and button 5 for the joystick ( it might not be button 5 just stating as an example). I click the afterburner and tab drops off but the joystick does not and when I go to pick tab again it says there is a conflict. Any help would be very welcome.

Sounds like your keyboard is returning a signal. What kind of keyboard is it? If it's USB, try unplugging it, then click on the binding option again. If it remains open and you're able to change the joystick button assignment, then the problem is with the keyboard.

Thanks for the quick responses! Well no usb keyboard as it is a laptop. ;) not able to unplug that. Though after you stating about a signal being there I went back and turned off the backlit function of the keyboard and that did it. Thank you now I can map my keys and start learning the game.
