Welcome abord. Some keyboards are a bit different, depending on region. So you may not have the same tilde key option. If that key (or equivalent) does not bring up the player list, you can alternatively use the scroll lock key. You can also change the key to something else using the method explained in the technical notes section of the instructions included with the game.

Hi Cougar One, welcome to the forum and the Sim. To clarify a point, you will not see the actual ships when you use the ~ key or whatever one you use, you will see a list of pilots and the sector coordinates they are in and this info shows in the upper right corner of the screen. C U out there.

Yes, like Vice says, also you will only see vissualy on radar and through your ships cockpit players ships that are in the same sector as you are within radar detection range unless they are cloaked!
And welcome to the forum! I already met you in Multiplayer!;)

The "Tilde" key is the one directly under your "Esc" key - c ya in MP. Well, to be accurate, the key under the "Esc" key acts as the "Tilde" key - anyway that's the one that works.

Another possibility is that your system may be dropping packets from players that are throttled back (which happens when they are far away from you). Although the cause might be difficult to pin down, it is something that has apparently happened before. Could be connection/hardware related.

I am stummped still no fix. I read up on the tech manual and it says that some systems won't work with the tilde key. and that u should make a txt file with the key stroke number in it to fix it.
I did that, and nada. I wonder if i was suppose to name the file .txt or since it was a text document it allready gives it the .txt.
also was i just to put the key stroke number in there and nothing else in the doc. thats what i did, tried both ways with the name .txt at the end and without still nothing, I dunno.
still stumped.
but thanks for the feedback

That's all you need to do. Does anything appear at all when you press the tilde key? If you don't see any new text appear, including on the upper left corner of the screen (several numerical values), then the keyboard itself may not be functioning for that key input. Not sure on the file option. If that doesn't work, then either the file may not be named properly or it's in the wrong location.
