Maarschalk has me beat money wise with his 11+Billion (lol) but my tax bracket works for me for now (lol).

It gets to the point where credits become meaningless and the only effect wealth seems to have is that everything costs more the richer you are.

^^^ this is mind boggling to me, as a new player.... I thought I was doing well to have made about a million credits in my first couple of hours!!

Don't feel bad Roadblock, my first 4 billion took me half a year of playing about average 2 hours or more per day! Till I discovered some secrets and learned some stuff.

Yes making your first million or so seems the hardest but it teaches lessons. Later in the game you'll pick up on things and ways to make more. It's all good fun tho.
