Dropping off cargo at cap ship
Ive been looking and looking. Dont know if Im going blind, but I cant find the suggestions thread. Im sorry if I missed it, but I have a request.
Would you consider enlarging the drop zone under the capital ship, when we do "drop off" missions? I spent 2hours and 15 minutes trying to hit that sweet spot, and finally gave up. I couldnt even blunder into it accidentally.

One of the easiest ways that I found to drop off cargo was to first set my compass to 180 and the pitch to zero and then jump to nav coordinates...this brings me up directly behind the transport ship. I then fly directly underneath the ship to the middle and jettison the cargo....if you prefer to go head on to the ship just set the compass to 0 and pitch 0. Hope this helps....

make sure you jettison your cargo rather than right clicking on it ( which destroys the cargo instead).

Use keyboard command or joystick command for dropping your cargo(jettison).
No need to open a menu for it.
I usually drop my cargo on the top of other ship.

The drop zone is actually anywhere within about 750 meters of the ship, top, bottom, or side. Just approach it in the middle somewhere, rather than at one end, then once within 750, jettison the cargo.

I always dive under the ship and then climb up into its belly. Keep pressing "J" and, after about three key presses, the ship accepts its cargo. Once in awhile, if the ship is moving at a steady clip, I'll use AB on the climb.

I like to set my coords at 500 meters below the default position (which centers on the ship itself) with heading 180. I glide between the lower fins and nestle right up close to drop the pods. Easy work, if you set it up right.

Huh. I always thought I had to fly under the ship. Now I can just ram it directly in the side and jettison the cargo.Originally posted by Vice

With the earlier Evochron games, you'd need to fly in much closer, but that was one of the many core gameplay changes that I'd received requests to change, so it's easier to accomplish in Legends.Huh. Thank you, for (as always) taking time to answer Vice. If 750 meters is the case, I cant explain why I never got to drop. I kept getting the message that I was out of range, and I was bouncing off of the big ship every time, pushing the J button like mad.Originally posted by Vice

It is possible that I was trying to deliver to the wrong ship a couple of times. There was a lot of traffic, but not every time. I have no explanation why it never worked. I will just try to avoid those types of missions and do something else. There is plenty to do around here.

LOL ! It is VERY likely that you were trying to deliver to the wrong ship!
Next time you're on MP maybe another player can help you in identifying the right ship.

well, I set my nav to jump me back to the cargo ship, in case I wandered. I stayed in the area. I dont know why I couldnt jettison, but it seems unlikely that I consistently approached the wrong ship for over two hours. It is not important anymore. I dont even care. I have other missions to do.
