what am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to start the beacon mission and have the clue for Erato II.

I've flown there and jumped to above the city as per the instructions (y = -14100) and can find nothing.

What have I missed?

Keep flying along that axis, it's a big planet and can take some time to find.

Do you have a sci. officer ?

They can help you find stuff , plus I think your radar works better with one onboard.

The beacon doesn't indicate what the X or Z coordinates are though. Try finding where Y=-14100 like you've done and simply fly along the planet's surface while Y stays constant at -14100. You'll eventually see it. Even easier though is to try it from orbit, since you can see it from there too and can cover more area.

If I remember correctly, it is on the sunny side of the planet so just fly on the sunny side along that axis, if you hit the dark side you have gone to far turn around 180 degrees and fly along the same axis and you should see it before you hit the opposite dark side! If I'm wrong and it is on the Dark side then to the same on the dark side of the planet!lol:P:P:P

Congrats, I thought this was the hardest one to find, took me the long way too!lol:P
