Is there a way to target inbound missiles? Do they show up on any radar? Tips?

Yes, missiles show up on your screen (white crosshair), you even get a pointer showing which direction they are coming from. Face them and you can shoot them down

Yes, they also show up on radar, highlighted by yellow boxes. But the best tool to track them is the direction and range pointers on the gunsight. There is no computer assistance for weapon tracking on them, you have to manually aim and shoot them down. That is one tactic, there are several others though.

Yes, missiles are good target shooting practice, Once you get the hang of it you hardly will have need for your countermeasures!lol:P:P:P

Unless I'm being overwhelmed with missiles (or the missile is blocking LOS between me and the target), I tend to prefer countermeasures. I need that energy to shoot the other guy down!

I have got some combat practice, still learning though, I use a combo of both main guns and CM, but using CM needs a bit of practice, too soon and the missiles hit, too far then they don't do anything, but yeah I agree with shooting down missiles make good target practice, helps your aim

I have become so good at shooting missiles down that I augment all power to Energy (with AIs only though!) so I have power to shoot when the AIs exhausted their missiles! and fly right at me! Recommended only with Leviathan or Predator with shield C10!lol:P

Shooting down missiles is pretty easy. I tend to slew to one side on intertial under 1000 distance, that has missile run down one side or the other. Then I just aim ahead of it n walk a few bursts toward missile once it's close. Once you get good at it, you can do it with 1 or 2 shots. Only time I use CM's is when I have missiles coming from multiple directions, otherwise you can shoot them all down without a a problem.
Even when there are multiple directions, if I'm targetting a von, if the missiles warnings from the other von are not red, I might drop off a few CM's or just ignore it till it turns red, it's just a quick flick around to pop the missiles, then turn back on your target who should now be in range. Once it gets more than 2 directions at once... it's CM's n hit the burners to give a little space.

Yes, I use the slew inertia tactic all the time when shooting down missiles, and flying towards the enemy!lol:POriginally posted by Venus
