Are your weapons more lethal in an atmosphere or in space?

The damage output is the same. But the atmosphere wreaks havoc on your ability to evade enemy fire - You're stuck in IDS mode, else you plummet down like a lead zeppelin. Your top speed is capped at about 1200, using the afterburner to go faster will drain your shields. You can't spin around and shoot incoming missiles without changing direction.
And to add insult to injury: With your thrusters happily blazing away in IDS mode, your countermeasures are less effective, too.
The best approach to atmospheric combat is to kill every sodding bandit in your approach vector before even attempting planetfall. Kill them in orbit, that's the only way to be sure.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Indeed, I usually come on to see about 3 or 4 new threads started by Star King, totally unnecessary if you ask me. If you have quite a few questions, simply make one thread and post them all there. As it is, this is sailing close to spam.

While I agree to an extent, its not really against the rules, and while maybe coming close to spamming it isn't quite....Originally posted by Zenith

Each post is on a seperate subject or an indivdual question, the threads where they are either yes or no answers are pushing it slightly, but some threads oipen up discussion, which is a good thing.
For instance, shouldn't weapons have a reduced effect range in an atmosphere?
Beyond that, generally the forum is a nice relaced place to visit, though even in a forum such as this hackles can easily be rasied ( yeah I know I'm not the best one to talk here, I'm opinionated, and sometimes post my emotional state whilst posting my POV). It not really worth it to make a big issue out of it, esp when there is no harm or offense in the action.

Dear Verb and Vice,
Sorry Friday 13th was not a good day, Thank you Verb for writing a U2U message explaining your position and defense of me.
Vice, I am sorry for accusing you and thanks for developing such a fun game.
After a hard day of work and family, it is nice to get away by playing this game for a few hours.
You may be seeing a sales spike in the Legends game. My friends (USA, Canada) from my Novalogic flight game squadron now have interest.
