Everytime I buy upgraded component to replace a lower version of that item that item disappears? And if I change my mind I can't get back and get my original item even though I'm still docked?

Item placement for beginners:
If you right-click a weapon or item in the shop, it'll be transferred to your cargo hold.
If you right-click an item in your cargo hold, the game will try to install it in a free slot.
If you left-click a weapon or item in the shop, the game will try to install it in a free slot.
If you left-click an item in your cargo hold, you'll sell it.
Commodities behave a bit differently. Leftklicking them will sell/buy the whole lot, while rightclicking will buy/sell a single unit. This can be rather useful of you need 25 units of a commodity for the constructor, as single units are added to an already existing cargo, up to the maximum of 25.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

just a thought.. use left clicks for all of the above, but have different buttons for the install/transfer/jettison.
I like the simple way freelancer had a button looking like 2 simple jigsaw pieces seperated, click it and it was mounted (or visa versa to unmount something).
No doubt thats not needed here as the item would move from a cargo bay up to the mounted items lits (and visa versa) but a simple non-fuss left click on a dedicated button saves remember and/or forgetting and sell or or jettisoning by mistake.
And talking of jettisoning.. I really would like an option to dump one specific kind of cargo out into space and watch it drift away (not destroy it).
Again.. a little button with a down arrow might do the trick: hover over it and you see 'Jettison' click it and off it goes.. out into the cosmos.
I find the question to right or left click brings newcomers to their knees in any application if its not clearly visible and consistent in its action.
