In the shipyard what does the hard points mean on the frame?

in theory I could have 4 different guns? How do you use each individual weapon?:P

Nah, you only get two guns, one laser, one cannon - in civvy ships anyway.

Never really figured out the hardpoints meself, but, once you progress from 4 to 8, depending on the class of ship you buy, you can carry up to 8 missiles.

hardpoints is the number of missile slots, you start with two then around striker ( wraith in military ships) you have 8 available

The Saber has 4 hardpoints, which for an early frame isn't bad. As Verbosity said, these steadily increase with the better frames.

Secondary weapons actually - that is, missiles (mostly).
You can cycle through them using the default ; and ' keys.
