Post by radio_babylon »

im having trouble picking up containers on planets. my science officer pointed one out, i found it, but when i try to tractor it all i do is suck up oxygen, bio, and platinum... is the platinum from the container or the planet? am i doing something wrong?

I would get as close as I can......even nudging them a bit before trying to use a tractor beam. Let me know if that helps you...having a scanner on board can tell you what's in the container and yes sometimes a container does have platinum in it.

If the tractor beam is recovering items from the container, you'll see the beam lock directly onto it.

hmm... yeah, thats what i figured... i went so far as to bang right into it, but the beam goes all over the place off to the sides and i never manage to pick it up... weird... ill try it again tomorrow...

should the container disappear after ive grabbed it, like the left over cargo does after a battle?

No, the container will remain behind. It carries many items, unlike cargo in open space from a destroyed ship.

There may be a problem with the system at that location, which planet are you trying to recover items from these containers?
