Ships have gotten a lot cheaper. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bigger ships remain at a rather acceptable price range below 10 Mcr (this might change as your disposable cash increases, as usual, but I was nice getting a kitted out leviathan for a fraction of the 100 Mcr they used to cost.
Repairs got a lot more expensive. Those repair systems are worth their weight in gold, as are the engineers. 250 Kcr for removing some dents and touching up the paint job makes those repair systems finally worthwhile.
Oh, Al is still out there. He's slightly peeved, though. I assume someone forgot to pay his bar tab, so Al introduced a new "shoot on sight" policy as far as mercenary ships go. The missions available there once again pay extremely well, but hell, they make the warzone look like a walk in the park.
Lost Rucker is also still out there. Since my new ship has no cargo bay, this had very little impact on my disposable income.
So are the hidden planets. Nice to see that my old trade route to cerulean still works.
While the new missiles are pretty much self-explanatory (this side towards enemy, stay clear!), the probes would profit from some sort of manual. No idea how they are used, or what for. (I just wasted 25 units of perfectly good platinum on WHAT?)
Can't seem to find any atmospheric combat missions - Didn't they make it into the final release?
Constructors are fun. If I had known about the thing with the fusion units, I'd probably have spared myself one looooong and arduous trip to get a better fulcrum drive. Well, next time, gadget...next time.
Our old friend the excalibur missile pack is also still there. Expensive as ever, but also useful as ever. The gift that keeps on giving. But they're harder to find with all the new missile types popping up at the stations, though.
I need to check the fuel converter to see if the harvesting rate has changed...that was one thing that bugged me about the old one. It takes up 2 slots (okay, the mining beam is nifty and worthwhile, but still...2 slots just to be able to skim some free fuel) and was so slow that I soon gave up on it back in Renegades.
I'm off to bed, I start to get even more incoherent then usual...
-Blackthorne, out.
