Hey, thanks you all, but I need more information. So, what you guys are telling me is that either I find a wormhole or gate, or enter coordinates on the nav map which is going to take me a long, long, time, right? ok, i'm in the Pearl system...and i want to get missles. I have 8 hardpoints for the missiles. where can i go? what is the absolute quickest way to get there? Please help!!

Its a bit of a cheat, but read this thread:

... I can tell you that it runs just fine in Vista 64 (BTW - dunno what OS you have).
It can help you find things.
There are certain times in the game where you *should* use your wits to find certain things, and to get the most enjoyment (and feeling of accomplishment), use this utility *only when you are stuck*. I've used it *once*, to find something that I otherwise would have just "stumbled across if I was lucky".
(edit) Short term solution - for Pearl, set your destination to:
SX = 3500
SY = 0
SZ = -1800
x,y,z = 0
That will get you to Pearl main, and you should be able to find places to dock then. You probably need to aim at the nav point and use max jump (ALT F2) a few times to get back.
