Was playing around in the Wolf Zone the other night and got tired of playing 'let's see how close I can get to the black hole' and decided to go check out a nearby planet and to my great amazement every time I tried to land I would suddenly be destroyed! I went through the process several times just to make sure I wasn't that drunk and sure enough it happened each time!
My question is: Is this by design? Or is this planet just 'Off Limits'?
Thanks,
Dog

The designer of that system made the planet off limits by making the atmospheric pressure so high it will crush a ship that gets too low to the surface.

Earth is different. It's orbital defense ring will keep you from descending.

ahh , that explains it
cheers vice , rekon the earth defence ring would make a great mission in example , Earths last stand against vonari forces , could be the first chapter in a renegades sequal in which fighting takes place in and around the massive defence ring , with huge laser batteries and rail cannon salvo's to avoid while trying to out fly the vonari fighter pilots in their highly advanced and powerful assault fighters
