I tried to sign on multiplayer tonight and there were 5 servers up ( which is great). Some I am sure are for pilot profiles that are only multiplayer, some would allow pilots that have been both solo and multiplayer and some are PW protected for more private play, and there has been talk of some being RP servers. . So I was wondering if maybe there could be a sticky thread here where people could post the requirements for their servers. That way you could see if it was one that matched your pilot profile and play before you attempted signing on.
Just a thought

And is there any way of knowing how many players are on any one server B4 we try to sign on?

Hello,
Since Vice tracked doew the problem with the server testing to my PC hosting the server, I have found it hard to play online.
I have just tried 5 different servers, 2 password protected and 3 timed out.
The servers were;
Drocks (S)
Dedicated1
Dedicated1 (S)
Comaslair
Dragons Wing

You don't really need a sticky thread, you can tell just by the server listing. A server with (MP) in its title requires multiplayer only profiles. A server with (S) in the title indicates a secure sever that requires a password. Public servers without restrictions will just have their server name listed. More details are included in the instructions. I'd have no problem though if someone wanted to post their server requirements in the forum, the clan forum would likely be the most appropriate for that.I tried to sign on multiplayer tonight and there were 5 servers up ( which is great). No, it does require connecting to it. There was work being done on viewing the players online via an image file in the multiplayer thread, but that has since stopped since the person that was working on it has gone on to other things. Once the new multiplayer system is complete and the next official update is released, I might be able to develop an in-game polling system for retrieving player counts.And is there any way of knowing how many players are on any one server B4 we try to sign on?
I'm not fully convinced it was entirely your system. It may have contributed to some of the stuttering packet exchanges and potential freezing, but most of the problem rests with multisync itself. After several more days of testing on my local system, I've pinned down some ways to cause the problem and I've forwarded the details on to the author for his review. I haven't heard anything yet, but I will keep those of you on my ICQ contact list informed of the latest news on it.Since Vice tracked doew the problem with the server testing to my PC hosting the server, I have found it hard to play online.
Some may be dead and were not removed properly. I'll check into them now. If you let me know via e-mail, I can remove outdated server listings quickly. If it gets bad enough with particular operators failing to remove their sessions properly, they may be blocked from relisting, at least temporarily.I have just tried 5 different servers, 2 password protected and 3 timed out.
