Joystick sensitivity setting.

ok well while playing the demo i had one thing that irked me in the setup, and if there is a way to turn this off then tell me (i cant check myself till monday when my key arrives).

while testing your joystick and setting which axis you want to be what, i set my throttle to the throttle on my joystick, no problem right? wrongo, my joysticks throttle dident move as far as the game liked it to, so the slowest i could go was 300, and the fastest 800.
so my suggestion to fix this, is to have a max and min setting for all joystick controls. simply perform any movement as you are setting the controls, and when you reach the max your joystick can move in that motion, click there with the mouse, this becomes the new 100%, next the 0%.

in this manor i would drag my throttle to its max and set this to 100%, next drag it to the lowest it can go, and set that to 0%.

your thoughts? or is there a way to do this already that i dident pick up on when i set the settings?

What that means is your device is only returning about 50% of the range that it should be as DirectX is detecting, which is what inputs the signal to the game. You can increase the deadzone, but not the movement range, which is a standard -1000 to 1000 range, so your joystick is only providing about -400 to 600 input range. Most likely, the device settings for your controller are limiting it in this way. You should be able to go into the game controllers menu in the Windows control panel and expand its input range there. What joystick is it?

il check the settings and see what i can tinker around with to fix this.

I have the Logitec Wingman Extreme and it will only throttle down to 10-20 as far as I can remember. I gave up and only use the keyboard for throttle.

There is a program called DXTweak2, you can get it here under 'gadgets':

It allows you to adjust the calibration settings manually.

Downloaded and installed 5.02 Wingman gaming software tonight and throttle works now at least with IDS on.
