More blasts from the past

Post by Bossk »

Wow, just wow. I was literly this eveing talking to some mates about games we used to play and we got talking about Everchron and the good old days of the Clan Wars. Thought I would pop onto the forum for nostalgia and saw a post from SeeJay and Marvin, names that bring a smile (and a grimmace >:D ) to this old lizzard face.

Like them, things have moved on a lot in life; job, grown up kid, new kid, travel, work. Spent the best part of the last 12 months traveling the world for work - Canada, Europe and a once in a life time trip to The Falkland Islands!

Ive lost my old X52 so got to grab a new one but really thinking about jumping back in.

Well, anayway, heres to the old days and hope everyone is as fit and happy as they can be. :)

Way back when ... there was only one game at Evochron. Now there are three and I've put them all on Steam. (I was going to make a point here but I've forgotten what it was ... oh well.)

Hi Bossk. Good to hear from you and welcome back. Sounds like you've had quite the adventures over the years.

You can play pretty effectively with mouse and keyboard, but a 6+ axis stick does expand control with more variable options. SWC ( https://www.starwraith.com/starwraithcommand/index.htm ) will involve more manual control of shields and weapons with a combat focus. You might actually find controlling that game with the mouse quite a lot of fun, especially with aiming and flight rotation controls unified with the mouse pointer.

The other games are more traditional in their approach with more elements automated and simplified. And for Evochron, additional alternate gameplay roles involving more trade, exploration, resource recovery, etc, that you're familiar with.
