As for economy in general in EL, there is a stock market for any system telling you what the prices are for the common commodities (not all of them, some exotic items like energy emitiers, memory banks or even batteries are not listed). Also in the Quadrant display you get an overall view. Fine, that''s useful if you want to just trade. You have no need to consult the RN for that, although it can help showing the newest price variations quickly.
But if you want to simply FIND a commodity, especially the exotic ones which you will need in Engineering together with your templates, you have a hard time in EL. It seems like a lottery game: the station doesn't have the commodity (or the equipment) you look for, so simply jump out of the sector and in again... Besides being lottery game, it's more of a cheat, and I believe there are logic alternatives.
So I have the following questions concerning Regional News and Economy, especially relating to commodities which I haven't found by googling or searching topics here.
1. Commodity - Economy:
Will the "Economy Classes" in the sub-menu System Information tell you what commodities you are most likely to get in the system? For example you are more likely to get food in Agricultural class?
2. Regional News:
The 'Commodity Price' is obious, but let's say Medicals have dropped 30% in Fauston. Does it mean Fauston WILL have medicals to be sold somewhere, or is it a lottery if you find it there? I mean, finding it there would be logical: stations try to sell medicals but don't succeed, hence the price dropping; it means medicals ARE there.
The contrary would also be true: Due to high demand, some goods may have a high price increase, so this article will most likely NOT be available.
Does it work like this in EL?
What does the 'Economy Level' in the 2nd section in RN mean?
As said before, there is a stock market already, so what do these increase/decrease numbers exaclty mean? In the system news there is no statistic for such a 'Economy Level', only tech levels.
My to-the-point question: what statistics / infos do you use to find a SPECIFIC commodity?
Thanks very much anyone to clarify these points
