Fuel Converter question

Is there a way to increase the speed of the fuel recharging? The beam device should use shield energy, would a special equipment, maybe a Shield battery X5 instead of a lower one would this make a difference? Or any components/modules in the shipyard?

Put your energy balance to full weapon, zero shields. The control system for the fuel converter takes a lot of energy and that's why you can only create fuel in 5 unit chunks. Putting all the energy into weapons is the quickest way you can recharge (useful for multi-jump journeys as well)
