It is but any changes aren't included.

I have been doing a tutorial series on Evochron Legacy that is in-depth.
If you want look at them for a refresher or extra info for the changes feel free to check out the link in my signature.

I was thinking of starting up a simular thread as Dave K has done of Evochron Mercenary regarding Evochron Legacy.

Hello,

All the manuals are worth reading, some of us have forgotten some of the stuff we should remember.

It is really annoying when a newbie reminds you how to do something :)

This is great news that they are being converted for Legacy. I am reading them even if some of the stuff does not apply.

Thanks for the kind words :)

A lot of the technical explanations still work - the intensity of the Federation/Alliance civil war stopped much R&D work in it's tracks so jump drives, shields, weapons etc haven't changed greatly - the economy just couldn't stand it. The new devices are being added and I'm rewriting the armour/protection section to handle the new Hull platings. The energy generation/management is also being rewritten. The biggest change is obviously around station/city modules - though their creation is still depend on the multiverse! :P

A lot of the performance data has changed, but not by much. Ships are still the same size - around 50m for our frames, a couple of kilometers for the capitals ships and just under 10 kilometers for the carriers and our frames are faster (10K as opposed to 8K max and so g-forces are higher but the inertial generators can still handle the extra load. Wing performance effects still broadly follow the graph that Marvin created for EMI - sufficiently close to help in choosing your wings.

The history timelines have to handle an extra 500 years but Vice has provided enough details to make a consistent filling in possible - some details are in lost datadrives scattered around the Evoverse and so will come to light gradually over the next year or two! There are now three timelines covering Jump Drive development, 20th Century to EMII times and EMII to EL respectively.

I'm taking the opportunity to do a proper rewrite, so it's a bigger job than just a tweak, but now the main developmental changes are stabilising I hope to have the EL Techy Guide ready soon.

As for the Hints&Tips Guide, Marvin is creating a Dummies Guide to replace it. The problem with the H&TG was that it was perhaps too detailed and too much of a temptation/spoiler and having a Super Moderator vetting the EL content should give a decent blend of H&T's with minimal spoilers. Vice has spent much time and energy eliminating things like 30 million credits/minute trade routes anyway. On top of all that, Marvin is a much more amusing writer than I am! :P

Having said that I'm collecting forum hints and things together for my own convenience (which is how the EM Guide started) so a much more streamlined spoiler free collection of the main H&T's may appear to act as a convenient summary.

So watch this space!:D

Hopefully that won't take much longer. (^-^)
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I am going to place inside my (quick) guide videos before making & releasing them.

Although Youtube videos are great I think a written guide is better for reference for certain things. Not sure if this Dummies Guide qualifies or not as I'm not sure what you intend to put in it.

My experience is with military training manuals. Which were written at an 8th grade level, IIRC (it's been a long, long time). In other words, step-by-step ... with pictures.
