Legacy - Crew Quit Chance

Post by D-Rail »

Is it possible we can revisit the chance for Crew to leave? I know it's supposed to be a chance to leave based on loyalty level, just like Mercenary, but I haven't been able to keep anyone long enough to increase loyalty since many missions require docking to complete. They have been leaving at first dock even when starting with 70+ loyalty. This has happened with everyone I've acquired so far.

Perhaps by increasing what they will receive for their first paycheck could encourage them to stay rather than flat chances? Or some other such method that could at least allow us a chance to increase their loyalty rather than simply not docking for long periods of time simply to increase their loyalty.

You could dock where they can't leave! ;)

You could also take a long trip until they are at 100%

I always pay my crew three times the asking price. Leastwise, until they reach a loyalty of 100% ... or if I've failed a contract.

I had two crew members that were both at 100% loyalty and I paid them several hundred credits over what the fair price was. They both just decided to jump ship. This is even AFTER the latest update with the jump chance reduced by 50%. Was it me? Did I say something wrong? I know I didn't exactly shower EVERY day, but at least like every other day. It couldn't be that bad!

To clarify, this just happened like 3 minutes ago. I'm pretty mad about it.

I am also seeing from 2 to 4 of my 100% Loyal and 100% rated ships jumping after the update I just installed. I played all morning under the old build with no problems. Glitch me thinks. It is good that my game is not set to auto save when docking. :(

Yes, this was a calc error that was fixed, the update is available on Steam if you don't already have it, and direct download (e-mail me if you need the link).

Crew is jumping ship after the build today. All 4 at 100% loyalty and way over paid. From 2 to four crew show jumping ship each time I start game. I do not auto save so they are safe for the moment.

While it's quite the bummer that I lost the two dudes I spent a lot of time "training" (read: flew around for a long time until they were at 100%), I can't express how much I appreciate your attention and quick responsiveness to these issues. So, in short, thank you.

Thanks for your patience, not sure how that one slipped through from testing to release, but it should be fully sorted now. It was a game issue, so if you like, you can send me your profile and I'll put back the two crew members you lost. Just need to know their categories (you can even pick the initials :)

I really appreciate that. However, I think I'll just deal with it. It's a fairly minor loss. I'll find new crew members. Also, I don't know how I would go about sending you my profile anyway. ;) Besides, I knew what I was getting into when I bought a game that was just released that day. Overall, you seem to do a fine job of making the game, and I'm just happy that when there are issues, you address them right away. A strong community builds a strong game, but not without a strong management team. So, again, thanks!

Yeah, I have to say that Vice does the best customer service I've ever seen. He once responded to me in less than 15 minutes and it's never taken more than 2 or 3 hours. I don't know how you do it, sir. I'd be pulling gray hair out of my head. And I don't have gray hair. Yet.
