Ship keeps getting strange FVL setting 'M'

Twice now in the navigation menu I have been clicking on the map, (while not even moving) and my ship takes on a mind of it's own. My FVL Set, has an M, next to it and I can't control my speed. Can someone tell me what I have done and how to fix it?

You've turned speed match on (hence the 'M'). Press the 'M' key again to turn it off.

This can happen in MP when you attempt to chat with another player. You forget to open the chat line by pressing the Enter key and, instead, just start typing. Next thing you know, the game is doing all kinds of crazy things ... all because you pressed one or more hot keys, thinking you were in chat.

Thanks all.... I got it figured out before the post was approved, is there a good key map somewhere for this game that is printable with the default keys?

In the game's install folder, keyboard.jpg. You can also access from within the game's included instructions.
