Youtube Series for Legacy?

Post by marlowe221 »

Some time ago, I did a short tutorial series on my YT channel on the basics of Evochron Mercenary. It was pretty well received and most of those videos got over 1,000 views each.

Would it be helpful/useful to do new series on Legacy?

(of course, I need to buy the game!)

Hi Marlowe, I think that's a no-brainer really! Although EM has some comprehensive tutorials, it's apparent from comments so far on the forum that there is still a fairly steep learning curve with how a lot of stuff works. There are lots of little details that are not covered in the default tutorials, so more extensive tutorials from other players would definitely be of help. I liked your series on EM and I would look forward to you doing more for EL! :)

If I may pimp, I've already started one my own self, though it's less about training and more about being entertaining. :)

It's the same as my name on this forum.

I have been slacking off and have not posted anything in quite some time now. Real life and all that.

But Legacy has be itching to get it going again!

Would it have hurt to do a little copy paste action? Hmmm? ;)

I just noticed your forum signature. Are you THE Sinbad who did the EM youtube videos about exploring an uncharted system? Those videos are amazing!

That's awesome - can't wait to see them!

Between you and SpaceGameJunkie in this thread I feel like I should be asking for autographs.

Vice ought to hire you to do promo videos for the game. Your videos definitely lightened my wallet by $25 for Mercenary. I must have watched that series 10 times. :D

:D:D:D Glad you enjoyed those videos! I just do it for pure fun. I love making up little stories to go with them. Hopefully my new ones for this game will be just as entertaining! I want to try and feature more MP stuff with player voice comms and all.

 Well, I hope someone with video capture does a video or two explaining how to complete some of the more complex tasks ... like using the engineering lab.

This would be nice. Another would be a simple guide of "how to prepare for exploring uncharted space." Mainly with tips that would help those of us who don't have a second screen and can't use the travel buddy, for an example. That's all stuff I never really got around to in Mercenary, but I'm already finding myself enjoying Legacy more than I ever did with Mercenary, so I'm planning to go the route of "explore, mine, and contracts" for most of my income. Combat only when necessary until I'm more confident in my piloting skills.

 You don't need a second screen for the Travel Buddy (Navigator's Assistant). Just tuck it into a corner on the left side of the screen ... and reduce the opacity if need be. That way, you can still open the Navigation console without the Buddy blocking your view. Or you can hide it then call it back up with Alt-Tab. Or just use it at the beginning of a long trip ... it will give you time en route and required fuel, allowing you to go off and do something else until the time is up ... and keep you from running out of gas.
