All,
Looking to get back into Evochron. I purchased the expansion (or, was upgraded) some time ago. I see this game is available in Steam. So, three questions:
1. Can I add this game to Steam (still have my Key, etc.)?
2. Any benefit to adding it to Steam? I guess I'd rather do that (upgrades are easier, etc.), but leery if Vice decides to not put the new game on Steam.
3. Also, can I still mod the game if it is a "Steam" game?
Thanks,
Tarl
Any reason to move account to Steam?

I don't use Steam for this game but I follow the Steam posts fairly closely so can give you a WAG answer.
1. Yes, you can add this game to your Steam list. IIRC (I do have one or two games launched via Steam), the "add" option is on the Steam web page (one of them).
2. Vice is fairly quick at submitting changes to Steam ... but the quickest method is to follow this forum and the link to upgrades. Other than that, Steam does offer a connection to other players which would probably be cumbersome if Vice attempted to do the same thing here.
3. You can still mod the game. Many Steam players have done it. From what I gather, it isn't as easy to do as it would be if you had the game installed in its default (direct download and install) location. But, since more and more players are going the Steam route, you should have plenty of help.

Marvin,
Sounds good. I'll probably move it to Steam. Getting lazy in my old age and have a bunch of other Steam games.
Not sure what will happen to my current game info, but if I lose it not a big deal. Wasn't that advanced and forgot everything anyway : )
Thanks,
Tarl

There is no penalty for moving a copy of your pilot profiles (or anything else) to a safe location while you transfer your game to Steam.
