A chart to help work out when to meet on MP!

Post by DaveK »

I get frustrated when trying to arrange to meet people on MP because of the time different time zones around the world. The answer is obvious but I've only just gotten round to it:
  1. In the table find the row for where you are and the row/s for where your mate/s is/are.
  2. Go along to the row to your present or planned play time
  3. Look along the column to see what the time is where your mates are now or at your planned play time[/list=1]

    [file]1105[/file]

If you find this useful U2U me and I can send you the original Word file so your can customise it

If you're not on the table U2U me and I can add you it! :P

    :)

Why am I not surprised that you came up with this?

Very cool indeed my fellow Bee!
Great work.

That's a useful chart Dave, but there are several global real time "Time Zone" sites on the internet and also you can type {your time zone to gmt conversion in Google and it will bring up a 1st listing of the appropriate info:
example:
cst to gmt conversion
Yields:

Greenwich Mean Time is 5 hours ahead of Central Time
6:23 PM Friday, Central Time (CT) is
11:23 PM Friday, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

What folks don't know is "when" neighbors (like you guys overseas especially) "prefer or are likely" to be on MP.

Of course the other problems seems to be that people just plain aren't coming on at al any more for the most part.

I don't know why I worry since my internet is so erratic and unreliable that even if more people were on I'd be more a hinderance than an asset beig on Mobile Wireless.

I maybe be able to get cable internet again but I don't know what quality it's going to be even if I can get it (for reasons I won't try to explain).

Thanks for the feedback Paul :)

I used one of the sites to gather the info; is there anyone who plays on MP that aren't on the zones I've chosen? A thought - I've missed out the Russians!! Oops! :P

For me part of the issue of planning MP meetups is knowing whether a time slot that suits me is even likely to suit the other person. Looking up other time zones on sites takes time so I put the (Mark I) table together of all the regular MP players who might be interested in joining up with me plus the other obvious major time zones- Asia for example is missing because I don't know of any Asian players. I have a printout on my desk for easy access.

Same in reverse - when Iron man says he'll be on 'this afternoon', I can now look at 13:00 -16:00 Melbourne time and look down to see what time it is for me (03:00 - 09:00) so I could catch him at (my) breakfast time for a 'chat' to find a suitable time. I can also quickly check which parts of the USA might be available. :P

'Of course the other problems seems to be that people just plain aren't coming on at all any more for the most part.' Is it cause or effect I wonder?

Wrt to your internet, I think you might have to relocate or even emigrate! :(

Another proposition in completing of this time zone board is using tge clients steam you can stay online on steam and see if your friend are on the computer or not. That avoid to wait him/her if he got a irl priority.

If someone using steam and willing to add me my call name is: [UEF] iron man

I think you still need to be logged into Steam to see who else is available for play.

Hello,

I don't use any guide, I just play online most of the time now.

Exceptions will be when I need solitude to take planned screen shots.
