Disappearing Cargo.

Post by sythsillis »

I spent a while collecting some very valuable cargo worth millions of credits: 3 fuel converters and a fulcrum torpedo. On the way, I picked up a delivery contract to a nearby transport. After I delivered the contract goods to the transport, I found, to my dismay, that my precious cargo had disappeared! The reason I'm posting this is to warn new players not to take delivery contracts if they also have valuable cargo on board. I don't recall this happening before, but I will be more careful in the future. :P

Be careful not to jettison your entire cargo bay when you make the delivery, the capital ship will be happy to take everything you give to them without compensating you for it. Be sure to only discard the one cargo bay that has the required material you need to deliver and keep the rest of your cargo on board.

If your cargo bay has additional items, you can either store them at the station and use the J key when delivering cargo or open the Inventory screen and click twice on the required item to deliver just the one piece. If I'm going to do a lot of delivery contracts, I first store the rest of my cargo.

Also, in case you don't know, to only jetison one cargo compartment open the Inventory Console and click twice on the cargo bay you want to jetison. Or if I'm remembering correctly you can right-click on it and then jetison.

Watch out about chatting - forgeting to press Enter 1st and go typing away - you can get in all kinds of trouble doing that - I'm expert at getting in trouble that way.
