Another exploration question: Planets

Post by tibaq »

Hi, according to map by SEEJAY:
System
X738
Object name
K526 [A] (2)
sX sY sZ
-2209 -20 -3327
pX pY pZ
-22000 13000 -36000

There is nothing down there, I am almost at exact coordinates and there is no PLANET.

Weird, how to find a planet in such an emptiness? Is it even possible?

 It might be an old entry. Some locations were logged to SeeJay's list prior to the expansion. And some of those planets have moved.

There are several ways to find planets/star systems. One of my favourites is to simply ask AI pilots. Do that via the trade console... they may tell you about a hidden location.

There was an upheaval in the Evoverse a couple of years ago - it was called the Expansion :P When Vice released it some of the planets etc changed position slightly. The planet may still be nearby. Seejay can only l update his map if people tell him about things. So if you find it at a slightly different location tell him and he'll correct the coordinates.

There's a good section in the Hints&Tips Guide about the various ways to track down planets. You can find it on Seejay'sSeejay's site

I did not find anything yet, but I keep ask pilots about stuff (on gave me 4mln worth of contrabanda, and the other some coordiantes). The only issue is that when asking sometimes they go away so quickly that my communication with them is being broken...

Look where thr light is coming from. That's the nearest star.
Planets "orbit" the star. Meaning that they are pretty close to it.

Before you send a trade request to another pilot press "m" to match your speed. Then you won't lose the connection with them. Unless they decide to jump.

I think in the starting systems, like Sapphire, AI pilots don't very often give you information about hidden locations. Better is to travel out a little to some other systems and ask there.

 When they give you coordinates, those are usually sector coordinates ... to unexplored planets. The coordinates will still be in Chat.
