Low activity?

Hello,

I just returned to Evochron after a few years, sadly I found the servers empty and low forum activity. Guys are you still playing the game? Or new gaming titles (ED) lure you away? Regards.

Which Evochron? I guess you mean Mercenary ... server activity depends on time of day, day of the week and how often the game goes on sale.

I play single-player, so you won't see me much on the servers. However, there has not been much debate lately.

We're in a transition time. I think Vice is working on some new patch or whatever, and so when it comes out, there will be another flurry of activity.

Yes, playing ED too.

I'm on again since recently. I guess it's a question of time zone. I usually play between 17h to 20h pm Sydney time zone during the week. Catch you soon

haha, its the opposite for me, I confess I only scratched the surface of Evochron a good while back before rl stuff put all my gaming on hold, when I got some free time back I bought Dangerous because I had backed it on KS and while it's a very good game in its own way I really didn't like the design choices and tbh in some areas it has sacrificed complexity for accessibility, which is fine, obviously they want as many people as possible to be able to play but some of its design choices just grated on me... so I got lured back to E:M lol.

From what I can see there is a lot more people playing Evochron than it may initially seem, lots of single player mode folk like me quietly working away, lots of folk who may not frequent the forums much but play the game plenty.

Also I think being on Steam helps keep a decent player base.
Evochron is a series that always, no matter where you go, garners almost universal praise and respect from space sim fans... it's perhaps more low profile than the big multi million dollar budget games but hardcore space sim players pretty much all agree that its a very special game with a unique feel that the big AAA games often never manage to hit.

I dunno, there's just something right about this game and I guess once you get into it you're a mercenary for life.
