Questions from a newbie

Heya, I'm just about to pick this game up and I had some questions.

1.) Is there a official list of the ships in the game? From what I remember in the demo, you could also customize them as well, but I didn't know how many.

2.) Is the game still fairly active? I was going to try to get my friend to buy it but I just wanted to be sure.

2) The game's developer (Vice) is very active in updating, adding new stuff, and responding to player feedback. Player activity in MP is relatively quiet at the moment, but sometimes gets more busy after sales on Steam. MP activity does depend a lot on your time zone.

Probably would be a good idea to try different times of the day... my time zone is close to yours and I find a few players in the evenings between 8pm and 11pm EST. I'm usually on at that time at weekends.

The Independent Merchants (IM) get together on the Galactica 1 server every Sunday at noon, Pacific time.
