Proving there is too such a thing as a stupid question

Post by AcePalarum »

Okay, really basic and dummy question, but I can't seem to find the answer on my own. When running single-player, how do I bring up the messages list (where the distress calls appear, among other things)?

So far I've had a few distress calls where I read it quickly and say "Hey, I know where that is!" and zoom off, only to get halfway there and realize I'm not sure exactly what they were asking for (and thus, I don't know whether I have it already). I've gotten lucky that I usually get a system message (new items available or some such) before I wind up doing something really stupid, but I'd like to pop the messages up myself.

On that note, is there also a way to close that messages list other than just waiting for the game to fade it out?

Hi AcePalarum, not such a dumb question really... these things aren't always obvious!

If you move the mouse pointer over to the left, where the chat messages is it will automatically reappear. You will then need to scroll up in order to see again the distress message.

You can close/hide the chat messages by pressing the default * key on the number pad.

Handy tip: There is a keyboard quick reference diagram in the main game folder.

Hope that helps

You can't totally go by my answer because I have remapped many of my keys, but you can check the keyboard.jpg layout in the game folder for the keys.
But on mine F11 recalls the last messages each time you press it and F12 (on mine) clears them from the screen (doesn't delete them, just remove them from the screen).
