Help cant find folder

I downloaded the game after I bought it via Steam and I am trying to use some mods but I cannot find the folder to place the mods, do I have to make a folder?

I downloaded the Viper pack but I have no clue where to place it or what folder to use, any help it is appreciated

Mods go into folders you create in the main folder. Basically if it's a HUD create a HUD folder in the main game folder and put all the HUD files in there.

If you download the customising kit instructions for the starwraith site it tells you what folders to create for mods that change your ship, game ships, trees, starfields, background nebulae etc.

Steam is quirky. Every now and then somebody posts hints on how to get it to work with mods. Try a search using "steam" in the text.

you have to create the folder unless the ZIP has subdirectory info saved and then you need to make sure you are in the correct main folder (evochronmercenary or whatever it is, where all the pilot profiles anmd game files are is where the folder goes) when you unzip it.
I just created the Hud folder manually and then put the stuff in there as I chose.
