Hey there, I'm having great difficulty attempting the 10th mission in the IMG quest line. I'm just hopeless at surviving the constant bombardment of missiles, let alone trying manage my own ships speed for turning. To recap on the mission, you basically have to stay within close proximity of this big ship till the count down timer expires (60 secs). Does any one have any tips on how to deal with this mission? thanks.

Hi and welcome.

One way to get help is to hop on MP and let other players join your contract.
Walk in the park!

If you want to do it on your own, then keep moving all the time and stay fairly Close
to the ship you are protecting. Pick a target and circle around it and try to have him between you
and his buddies. That will limit the fire you'll take.
Stay in Inertia all the time to minimize your heatsignature for missiles to lock on to.
I Always take out incoming missiles with my guns, not lasers, they won't take them out.
You can also install an auto CM launcher and/or a anti missile system.

Important things to install is also a Heatsink to cool down your guns.
Also a Cannon Relay system is a must to double your fire Power.
A repair Sys is also a must.

Once you've taken out about 4 targets that was probably there when you arrived, the heat is not that
bad anymore. Stay Close to the ship you protect and don't go out to far chasing a target.

Hope this helps a bit and good luck!

:o A 60 second timer sounds like it's a spy contract. If so, take a quick trip to Cerulean and look to buy a couple stealth missiles. Fire one off as you close on the capital ship ... but, to be on the safe side, move your jump point slightly away from the contract box. Why? Because you can't launch the stealth missile until your energy builds back up to 100% ... the extra distance will give your energy the time it needs to regenerate.

Hola, i see 2 methods:ç

Expensive mode: 1 Buy a Stealth Field and 2 use it for Spy the cap ship.
Hero mode: 1 Jump to the waypoint, 2 kill the fighters (Go again to the station if need repairs), 3 select the weapons subsystem in the capital ship, 4 take down the weapons subsystem, 5 spy.

 Do the H2GE quests. By the time you get to the spy contract, you'll already have the credits (and the expertise) to make use of the stealth option.

If you think you might be doing scanning/spy contracts a lot (they come up in War Zones and add to your military rank points) you might also consider getting the installed equipment (reusable) version of the stealth tech. It's not cheap and it's rare but it doesn't need throwing away after a single use.It lasts about twice as long as a missile before it needs recharging; certainly long enough to do the scanning contracts or sneak around in very hostile areas!
