Hello,
Having come back to the game after a long time away, EL and ER I am practicing skills, knowledge and memory on them before buying EM.
I know having read the forum and game descriptions that the Universe is or could be different.
The question, is the basic Universe the same with more added?

With EL you could edit the universe file. In EM you can't - it's encrypted.
There's a lot of extras in EM including many more uncharted systems well above and below the Y=0 galactic plane (ask passing NP ships if they'll sell you info
) so you get much more to play with in basically the same universe, though four more gated systems have been added. There are two alien species to interact with as well and you can explore planets 'on foot' in Terrain Walkers

Hello,
Thanks DaveK, that is what I needed to know ( not the editing ) but the fact that I will be able to use the "Taxi driver" knowledge too fly around and pick up a few goodies.
Also working on a little story line that only works if some of the knowledge from one version ports straight over too a newer one.
If everything is in the same place, I can fast track some aspects of my game.

If that means you're writing a story then that's great news - sadly we haven't had any fanfic got ages! (though there is a storyline in several of the community created quests available)From post: 172459, Topic: tid=11590, author=CS-ACI- wrote:Hello,
