I wonder what have been your most memorable events in your own Evochron (and maybe also: Arvoch Conflict/Alliance) history, both in single player and multiplayer.

I (started with Legends, then Mercenary, then a loooong break, now starting from scratch in Mercenary with a new pilot profile) still remember the first time landing on a planet (just being able to do so was :) :o ) and the first time leaving Sapphire (and being shot immediatly). And of course the overall beauty of the star systems.

In multiplayer, I remember some years ago the "Romulan" guy who appeared everywhere and tried to kill everybody. Lots of talks in the forum about him.

Yesterday's server reset on Olympus Prime was also somehow cool. I called that cataclysmic, and I tend to blame the Vonari for that.

But I'm sure you have made many more impressive experiences, and I'd be happy to listen to the stories of the old-timers :)

The battle in Deneb called Haroda's Horde was the biggest I have seen and probably the most epic. It involved almost every clan in the game and every veteran still breathing. Lasted for hours and took place last year.

No battle since has every been that big.

That sounds exciting! Does anybody have screenshots of that event?

For as many people that were there, I have considered it a crime against humanity that not a single one including myself fraps it. I guess everyone was more focused on surviving the massive mosh pit than recording.

Did you have experiences in Evochron which you're still thinking of from time to time, Busch?

Some of my greatest fighting moments is when me and Dingo had our PvP bouts.:D

I forgot how many hundred fights we've done but the old "Dog" kept a record.:o
We fought each other in different ships and configs and we ended up pretty much at 50/50 wins/losses.

Sometimes we also sneaked up on each other using aliases but as soon as the fight was on, we recognized one another
due to our fighting styles!:P So much fun!

One other specific situation was a pilot (forgot his callsign) that ran out of fuel drifting at about 6000.

He called for help and I started to "chase" him. I couldn't accelerate fast enough to catch him so I had to calculate
a jump point ahead of him and start accelerating before I even saw him. This was pre-expansion btw.

It took me about an hour to get it right and I managed to dock with him and transfer some fuel. Phuuuhh!:P

He thanked me and jumped right into a planet and died (Didn't save first).
I never saw him again LOL!:P

Another one is the big bout we had in an Asteroid Cave.

Lots of players fighting using guns and lasers only. No missiles and no repairs.
Only one leaves the cave!

Lots of great fights in there with both oldies and new pilots testing their wings.;)

The last night on the Babylon 5 server.

Of all the experiences I've had, flying the Evochron universe.... It's not so much about the things I've seen or done... It's more about the people I've met and helped, and the friends I've made along the way.:cool:

I have to agree with lazarus. Haroda's horde battle was awesome.
It was the only time where our combat training, formation flying and teamwork really paid off.
It was beautiful seeing all the freedom fighters jump in at the same time, working together to defeat our enemies.

Was this a planned event, or did this battle emerge from long-going clan conflicts?

Do you think something similar may happen again in the future?

It was a planned event that emerged from a conflict with the Freedom Fighters. I do not share splosives' or lazarus' awesome opinion of Haroda's Horde. I loved seeing so many people. I loved the fight. I hated what it proved and the effect it had on my adopted family of the true veterans in my family who fought along side me as well as on me. I wish that I had never gotten a group set up to fight. Every time I think about it, I am not ashamed to say that tears come to my eyes for all the pain that certain actions people took in "just a game" caused so many others who truly loved this wonderful game as a masterpiece instead of just one game out of many.

I hope that one day again soon a large event can be setup, but I will not be the one to lead such an event getting built because of my latest experiences with events in this game.

If you want to do the work to setup an event, it can be rewarding as I have done many times. The veterans are awesome and they will help you out as much as they can if only asked. And Ceti Alpha V is the best server out there for events -- it even has a kill counter! None of the other servers have this excellent device for PvP and PvEveryone fights.

A small group of people working on it.

Otherwise some action made or event have been made for created this kind of fight.

It seems V clan came out after the incident of 2 main clan. V clan was apparently trying to created a 3 part and make back the fight part of the game. Didn't really work apparently or player in front didn't understood the motivation.

Some player tried motivate old veteran coming back into the game to created such of activities. Some of them came back some of them don't want or didn't answer....

The event chaos war event was made for show the new player, PVP can be also fun and for veteran have somethings to fight. I'm glad some guys came around and fought under this rules and had fun. ( A race event is coming soon a Team working on the thread)

One association have been recently made in a goal of fight a common enemies : "Hey we are here come around to have fight". But for the moment we didn't get anything feedback from everywhere ..... This association trying get fast set and will show their intention at the right time. Pretty soon I hope. :)

All that for say some player working on it and try their best to make back such of good activities

Thanks for the information, Iron man. The efforts of the people involved in creating such events is much appreciated!

If something similar will happen again, I'd be glad to support that.

Actually my first and most memorable incident is quite funny in a squirmy way - now- but was very embarrassing when it happened :P

Imagine it . . . my first time on MP (in any game, ever). Sitting in a station, getting used to real players being around me! At which point I was attacked!! (so I thought). Lots of banging, shileds flaring, being shaken around!! So much for a friendly community me thought. The other pilot inside the station had the callsign 'SeeJay', so I turned and attacked him. After a few seconds of getting nowhere, he swatted me like a fly. When I re-entered the game I was gently informed that if two ships get too close their shields collide and it looks and sounds like an attack! :D

To complete my humiliation, when I was using chat to apologise for my newbie-ness, I used the <Shift> key (for a capital letter - as you do) without realising that I hadn't actually pressed <Enter> to start the chat (a major disadvantage of not being able to touch type, even after 40 years!). The result was that since the <Shift> key default is 'fire missile', I emptied my Excalibur pack at Seejay. To no effect. At least this time he didn't kill me - too busy laughing I suspect! :P

It ended well though - I'm now a loyal member of HB, and have been for a long time!

:)

One of my most memorable moments was when someone tried to start up an RP server during one of the Steam sales for Evochron.

I was all over that, because I'm a big D&D and general RPG fan and I really enjoy that sort of playing, but when I hopped on the server it was filled with truly new people. It was my first time on a public MP server for Evochron, but I'd been lurking on the forums for a little while and had spent enough time to have a fair amount of money and enough Mil rank to unlock all the military frames, so I at least knew what I was doing for the most part. These folks were fresh from the Steam sale and had hopped into MP right away.

So began one of my favourite things to do in Evochron: sit in Sapphire and watch newbies float around.

I sat by the starting station for a good 2 hours just watching people try flying down to the nearby planet and shooting each other with their starting cannons, with no one saying a word as they worked out the controls. Then, rather suddenly, I get the missile warning followed by two very weak kabooms hitting my shields. One of the newbies had accidentally unloaded their missiles at me and began frantically typing to apologize. It was all good and I offered to walk them through a few of the basics to help them get started. They accepted and while I was helping them someone else asked something that I knew the answer to, so I answered that question as well.

And then the floodgates opened.

I ended up spending that session sitting still in the middle of empty space answering questions as fast as I could type, and otherwise offering encouragement to people as they figured out how things worked and starting experimenting with the game. The appreciation and genuine "thank yous" I received that night still make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
There are two great joys in the Evoverse: watching one\'s bank account grow, and making stuff blow up in spectacular ways.

The good old days of the Klingon War, followed by the Romulan (or was it the other way round?) I also remember spending hours being chased around all over the place by SeeJay and his bunch of do gooders trying to stop a simple NewbyHunt. It was always a constant battle of cat and mouse for me and the boys to try and hit our target before he turned up and drove us away.

Ah those were the days. Now its just nappies, screaming baby and long hours in RL. Miss you guys lots.

B

Oh also MM and Yoda. True greats of Evochron.

All of my best memories were the pvp fights during my time in LoL clan with KA, hunting down elusive enemies and the pvp weekly fights with rubber chicken, KA, and Sky King, FF and the adventures in Babylon 5 server. Oh I didn't forget about my BA welcomes to the many pilots during those busy times lol. I miss those days, seems like a lot of the vets I know left. :(

I've had so many memorable moments in Evochron it's hard to pick just one... so here are two :P

1. First time I met Seejay... I was nearing the end of the Quest and descending to the surface of the hidden planet in Pearl, with the hope of buying my first Stealth Generator. The planet was hostile and difficult for me to dock at the city port. Then I noticed another human pilot circling and knocking reds out of the sky... Seejay of course. He offered to cover me while I docked. What a true gentleman! LOL.

2. When I was rescued by Miaz. I was stranded without fuel in a nebula in Pearl. My radar showed a never-ending stream of reds popping up all around and closing in. I sent out a message for help, and Miaz responded. He was in some other system and would take several minutes to reach me. The hostiles were soon on top of me and started attacking. Without fuel I was a sitting duck. Literally being knocked around by their shots. My shields went down and just as my hull strength dwindled Miaz arrived, cannons dealing out death and destruction all around him! He cleared a safe zone around me, and set up a shield array to protect me while he finished off the rest of the attackers. Having neutralised all hostiles, he refuelled me and went on his way. :)
