Hello folks!
This issue has defeated me so far and forced me to register just so I can post this question.
I'm running the dedicated server program from the downloads section of this site. I'm guessing it's compatible with the latest version of the client game?
I've forwarded the ports 3888, 3889, 22888 and 22889 as I've seen both sets listed in different places. I've made them all both TCP/UDP . In addition I've disabled Avast and uninstalled Hamachi as well as changing the default name.
Now that said, I do get an error saying that the file MSVCP.dll is missing but the program continues to launch and runs fine.
So when I try to connect from another machine on the local network, it says that the address is blocked or full.
Any suggestions?
Server specs from memory:
2 Dual Core Xeon CPU's
Onboard NVidia Graphics
12GB of RAM
Network: Fiberoptic 30Mbps

[EM 2.848] Dedicated Server, unable to connect
What version of Windows are you using? Couple of things to check:
- The install may not be correct if the MSVCP library is not found and not being loaded. Make sure the installation is valid and that both msvcp71 and mscvr71 files are present in the install folder. This could be the reason it's not working.
- Make sure the local LAN address is correct for the system you are using the run the program with. One of the main reasons a connection fails is the wrong IP address is being used, either server side or when the client tries to connect.
Edit: Also, if you're using the 2D server program, make sure to install the VC++ 2010 runtimes as the instructions advise: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... en&id=5555
