Small but annoying Weapon Lab issue

Post by picommander »

I want to build a fusion cannon and got all parts required - so I thought. This cannon requires 22 mach units, I actually have 39 in total. Unfortunately not in one slot: 21 in slot 4 and 18 in slot 3. No matter what I do (store them in hangar or keep them in cargo bay) the weapon lab doesn't accept it and apparently wants 22 in one single slot. What can I do? Sorry if a dumb question with an obvious answer, I'm a bit tired out and can't see it...

If you're using joystick, then you should be able to (If I remember correctly) ALT+Right Click from one cargo bay to stack into the other while docked at a trade station or in the station interior screen. I'm not sure what the Kb+mouse procedure would be.

As RC describes, you can just consolidate the split cargo sets. From the instructions included with the game (inventory console section):

To consolidate commodity cargo, dock at a station or city and use the ALT key with either the left or right mouse button. Left click to combine matching commodities up to the limit of 25 per cargo bay. Right click to transfer one unit at a time.

Thanks to both!
...and me wearing sackcloth and ashes for never completely reading the tutorial (found it now at the end of first chapter of inventory console, under "Navigation, Inventory and Trade"). Oh well, so much to read. Easy to miss something if you are both lazy and not reading your native language. :P

Glad to be of help. :)

BTW. I don't know if you know this already, but when your at a trade station, if you right-click your equipment/guns/missiles/cargo you can swap them back and forth from cargo to the appropriate slots.

You can also purchase equipment/guns/missiles by right-clicking the Items For Sale and put them straight into the cargo bay instead of installing them directly. - Great for trading.

Yeah I knew this part, but thanks anyway. :)
I also knew that you can buy/sell single stacked commodities by right click.
Just not the Alt-right/left click trick, which is somewhat unexpected and... hidden in the tutorial. :P

If you want to combine items while in space you can jettison the loot and pick it back again with the tractor beam. It will put the items to however many 25 count stacks that it can.
