I was wondering if everyone is setting up your controller Axes to what seems to be the standard for flight simulators (when only a joystick/gamepad is used)???
Where:
Stick-Left/Right = Roll
Stick-Forward/Back = Pitch
(For Joystick) Stick-Twist = Yaw
I'm particular curious if anyone else is using a gamepad such as Xbox 360 or Logitech F310/510 etc., and how you have set up Axes on it??
Additionally, is anyone using a utility (or built in or 1st or 3rd party - such as logitech Gaming Software 5.10.127) to change the sensitivity of one or more of your axes??
I have both an Xbox 360 (there's no way to change axes sensitivity) and a logitech F310 (if set to Dinput you can use LGS 5.10 to change sensitivity - but not in Xinput mode - in Xinput mode the F310 is seen as if it was an Xbox 360).
in Xinput mode the F310 has a quite different sensitivy level than the Xbox 360 - the F310 causes a much greater (and to me excessive) change to Pitch,Yaw, and Roll compared to the same movements on the Xbox 360 when you move one of the sticks more than about 1/4 from center.
I'm going to try the LGS 5.10 profiler again to change them - but the draw back to that is that since it has to be in Dinput mode that totally change the 2nd stick axes & the 2 Trigger Axes assignments and is no longer compatible with the Xbox 360. In fact the 2 triggers are no longer treated as axes but as buttons. After looking again - in Dinput mode the Logitech F310 is seen in Windows as a logitech Dual Action controller.
Thanks,
Paul

Me tooFrom post: 170441, Topic: tid=11420, author=Marvin wrote:Yes, I have my joystick set up as you describe, with the twist axis assigned to yaw.
I can use the Saitek X52 Pro Control to control deadzones but use the in game facility since the configure options handle all of the stuff I need and learning to use the profiler looks too complicated given my needs

Yep, similar set up with the Thrustmaster Flight Stick X. But, I also use a lot of the keyboard commands as well. Ambidextrous... with dyslexic fingers.
