I have an issue that has plagued me a bit with Waypoint markers and Nav point markers both on the screen and Nav map.
(1) is with multi-waypoint contracts. After one Waypoint is finished I may need to return to the Station to get more Missiles thus necessitating the need to select the Station cause a Nav marker to appear at the station so I can Jump to it to rearm. How then can I Jump to the 2nd Waypoint to continue the Contract when Jumping will take me back to the Station Nav point and If I set a new Nav point as best I can at/near the 2nd Waypoint that can confuse things a bit.
(2) was with a Contract to mine some platinum to take to the Station and the Waypoint was placed in the middle of the Asteroid Icon in the Nav map of Olympus. Well I took the Contract at the Construct station and I assumed I should return to the Construct with the Platinum. Well I Jumped to he Waypoint and there were no asteroids in immediate view and after flying around a bit I saw 2 asteroinds field in different directions so I just chose one and went to it to mine the Platinum. Then I jumped back to the Construct station (after selecting it to set a Nav point so I cold Jump to it.
That's when my problem occurred. The Contract was not completed and at 1st I didn't know why so I thought maybe I mined at the wrong location and now that I had the Nav point on the Construct I could not Jump back to the Waypoint and on top of that (due to the Asteroid Icon I couldn't even see the Waypoint nor could I find it on the screen. I tried setting a Navpoint as best I could where the Waypoint had been in the Asteroid Icon on the Nav map but when I Jumped there I could still no longed find the Waypoint marker so I just started looking for more asteroids and mined some more platinum.
Then I got to thinking that maybe the Contract meant me to take it to the Station on the edge of the asteroid field and not back to the Construct station. I did that and thus finished the contract.
But still the issue of mixing Waypoint Markers and Nav point markers is a problem. How do I jump to a waypoint when there is a Nav point elsewhere??? Is there a way to "Clear" Nav point so only the Waypoint would remain???
I had one Issue on a previous Combat Waypoint contract where the only thing left was a little purple square where Waypoint icon had originally been so I could see it in the Nav Map but I had to set a Nav point at/near it to jump there.
I guess I could take the time to write down the Destination before I do any Jumping to other locations so I can manually reenter it in the Nav Console but that's a lot of trouble to go to.
I thought I read in other post or the Hints & Tips that it was the standard practice to jump back to stations to refuel/rearm when needed during multi-waypoint contracts. How is everyone else dealing with it???

Almost every contract places a blue box around the location of the contract ... if you reset the waypoint, set a new jump point inside the blue box (check the location in both the horizontal and vertical). Keep in mind that some recovery and mining contracts will fail if you return to the station prior to completing the contract ... which can be a problem during a co-op contract where another member of the group docks prior to the contract being fulfilled.

The Blue box was the problem with the mining contract. From post: 169529, Topic: tid=11376, author=Marvin wrote:Almost every contract places a blue box around the location of the contract ... if you reset the waypoint, set a new jump point inside the blue box (check the location in both the horizontal and vertical). In the Nav map I couldn't see the blue box because of the Asteroid Icon - I could barely see the Waypoint marker whenit was 1st there because of it.
Once the Waypoint was gone from the screen (in space not the Nav console) I never could find the Blue box - I saw it on one occasion while turning but could never relocate it. I knew where the Waypoint was (approximately) in the Asteroid Icon in the Nav map so I could set a Nav point in the approx. location - but in the end it didn't matter as I said because I took the Contract at the Construct station and was told to return the Platinum to the station - but it didn't mean to the Construct station but to the Harris Mining Station on the edge of the asteroid field - so I was able to take it there and complete the contract.
It was just an hour or so of confusion all around.

With the mining contract, make sure that you have the right sort of mining beam. If you're supposed to mine diamonds and you have a platinum mining beam, you are doomed to fail before you even get to the waypoint.

I only have the standard mining beam. From post: 169532, Topic: tid=11376, author=Nigel_Strange wrote:With the mining contract, make sure that you have the right sort of mining beam. I wonder if being able to mod the waypoint and nav point colours might help when trying to spot them in crowded spaces - how easy or difficult it would be to add them to the customisable HUD icons list?

Thanks Marvin - now to choose a distinctive colour and test it out!
