Construction station question.
I'm fairly new to this game, have maybe 30 hours in total over 3 different periods of time. I searched the forums and googled forever but can't find the information i require about construction stations. A friend and I made it to Sol and had a great money making scheme for when we got there but it appears we don't understand how construction stations work, I built 2 and they just provide the ability to make missiles out of metal. I figured what they let you build would be randomized at worst. Can someone let me know what I'm missing? thanks.

Construction station question.
i know the difference between station types, i built 2 construction stations and they both only let me turn metal into missiles, instead of like the one in cerulean that lets me turn metal into machine parts and then repair systems.

Maybe you should build a ore processor and/or a research station.
From the games website: (http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmerce ... iverse.htm)
"Ore processors take raw materials from a nearby trade station (which in turn receives the materials from local freelance mercenaries) and
converts them into machinery parts, electronics, and other simple items. These stations can help boost local inventories and provide a better range of items. "

Construction station question.
I am fairly convinced that it does depend upon the systems' basic economy and the location where the constructor station is built. My experience with getting missiles, instead of armor or machinery parts, deals with an unknown system to the south and west of Virgo Prime that the StarWolves once held for a time. I had built a trade station and a constructor station (and everything else) in a square, immediately adjacent to the system's star. And so I went about my way, performing all types of contracts to build system control. In the course of events, I had an occasion to roll over some commodities. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had exchanged metal ore for viper missiles, instead of receiving the armor plate that had been the 'usual' exchange item. Not entirely sure, but I think the constructor stations that are player-built in known quadrant areas somewhat conform to game hard-wired stations, in that they yield the changed commodities in support of weapons lab efforts and experimentation. Sol system, since it's 'off the beaten track' and does not report nor hold system control percentages (for very good reasons), appears to be an exception to specific weapons lab needs as well.

For ships systems repairs, you can either pay for them at trade/constructor stations or military carriers, wherever located. Or, buy a level 3 repair system, install it in an equipment slot, and wait out the repair time needed. (It sorta works auto-magically.)
