Ship Energy

Post by Biscuit390 »

Hello all

Does anyone know if the more expensive frames have a higher energy capacity/regeneration rate than the more basic ones?
I can't decide whether to be impossible to hit or impossible to destroy p:

Thanks in advance

Hi Biscuit390. Welcome to the game.

The main differences between frames are more hardpoints, cm packs, equipment slots, crew slots, assembly points, armour and hard points. There are several bits of equipment that you can install on any frame that will boost your performance:

1: cannon relay system doubles the energy capacity of your primary weapons (and adds two extra particle cannon barrels)
2: cannon heatsink allows your particle cannon to fire at a faster rate
3: five classes (C1 - C5) of shield booster sells increase your shield storage capacity
4: shield array recharger transfers energy from your main systems to the shields when you need it

you can also buy

3: charge packs (mounted on the secondary hardpoints) to recharge your your ship's energy (and fuel packs to extend your range - also mounted on the secondary hardpoints)

So a 'better' frame lets you add more equipment.
there are also other bits of equipment that you can install to do other jobs; a mining beam is probably the first thing you should buy - for mining and recovering containers :)

Hope this helps.

:)

Hello Biscuit390 and welcome!

From what I understand, 'energy capacity' rests with the engine, not a particular frame. Unfortunately, the energy 'regeneration rate' is the same for all classes of engine, frame non-respective. The sole method I've found to boost the 'regeneration rate' is to apply more thrust. Some times helpful, some times not so, dependent upon if you're 'hurrying towards' or 'hurrying away from' something. Now, the ship frames, as they rise in the model available listing in the shipyards, are alleged to posses increasing engine and shield core management attributes. You may find that this basically equates with the fundamental ship's engine and shield-type selections for the civilian-class frames. (all mil frames are already hard-wired Class 10, and can not be scaled.) If you find that 'sweet spot' between skill, engine and frame, you may become both impossible to hit and impossible to destroy. [And, don't forget the other ship's equipment items that may assist you in this regard as well.] I've been flying the Guardian frame as my 'work horse', with C-9 engines, C-8 shields, and a full kit of other ship's equipment options inclusive of an AMS, cannon heat sink, and shield regenerator. (Not really a 'God' ship, but more like 'bait' for the Reds.) Seems to work best for me. ;)

 You can also adjust your shield-energy ratio using the bracket keys " [ " and " ] " ... where -5 / 5 gives you the fastest recharge rate.
