treasures in pods

Could you all list the really great special different things that can be found in containers?


So far, for me, I have found nothing remarkable.

Pods are like the proverbial 'box-o-chocolates'. Never know jist whatcher gonna git 'til ya open it up and try one. (Or use a cargo scanner.)

Depending on location/economy, pods usually contain either basic commodities (hydrogen/fusion/metals/biological/etc.), weapons implements (missiles/cannons), or ships' equipment. Pod contents do not change with successive visits. Some locations have an item quantity limit per visit. There are some pods whose contents/locations, if stated here, would be spoiler info. There are a few of these yet to be found, from what I've heard.

I remember from somewhere, (or maybe I dreamed this), That there were containers and pods and .... with VERY special items.


Like gobs of cash.

Super weapons.

Super shields.

Super drives.

Super Alien technology.

etc.

Am I hallucinating all this?

Or are these things actually out there to be found?

Well...yes. And no, you're not hallucinating. I once heard of a very special addition to one's jump drive. It was described as a one-shot deal.... some sort of crystal something-or-other. Only one pilot (of unimpeachable character) that I know of has discovered its location, and he's not talking. But then again, neither are those who've touched the soil of Earth.

I have it on very good authority that there remain 'things' to be found. Exactly what and where is up to the bold, venturous pilot-explorer to accomplish. Probably not the gobs of cash, as you suggest, but other items of unique interest, possible utility, and strangeness. It's out there...still awaiting discovery. You might 'ask around' in-game. Pilot Plasma has been having some extraordinary luck talking to NPC's of late.

This sounds like a typical list in a 'what I'd like to see in a future version' thread! - that may be where you read it.

The only thing close, as Busch says, are vague hints about the way to bypass the defence ring and land on Earth, and much of the 'you need to find a specific thingy' statements were speculation. The intrepid few who have managed to visit the ol' Homeworld are sworn to secrecy with threats of a fate worse than death (again a secret ) The nearest to a solid hint was 'you need to think outside the box' from the first successful pilot - about on par with telling a bomb disposal person 'you need to stop it from exploding'
