Navigation and inventory consoles questions

Hey all,

When you activate either of those consoles, the rest of the cockpit darkens. Is there a way of disabling that? Also, is there a way of stopping the warp effect from showing through either of those consoles when they're active?

Probably by changing the transparency of the involved screen files, I would not know how or which ones though, but I know many of the rendered screen files have a transparency file or setting!......
