Cant start new game

I've just downloaded Evochron Mercenary this evening, and every time I start a new game my ship explodes after about 30 seconds, I'm not in combat and I haven't had a collision. What am I doing wrong???

Hi Armed Badger, welcome to the game and forum!.....Hope to see you out there some time once you get the game working!.....

Vice's advice is always the best as the one man creator of the game!......One thing that might be happening is that you pressed the Eject (F7) Key to see what happens!
(F7) key does not eject you, it starts a self-destruct countdown sequence of 10 seconds which may seem to feel like 30 seconds! If this is the case just after launching the game press Alt+F7 Keys simultaneous and that should stop the self-destruct countdown sequence!.....
