INKED MIKES REFLECTOR HUDS

Post by INKED MICHAEL »

I've Decided to do a Series of REFLECTOR HUDS from ACTUAL AIRCRAFT for Use with VIPERS SILICUM COCKPIT V2.

They Will Incorporate BOTH EM and the ACTUAL REFLECTOR DISPLAYS.

Hope You Like Them.

Should Anyone Like a Copy just EMAIL ME, I'm visible on the FORUM, and I'll EMAIL You a copy of the b2gun2 and b2gunshadow2 Files.

I'd Advise COPYING or RENAMING Your EXISTING FILES before Installing these into your "hud" Folder.

 I suppose, if you wanted to, you could delete the false pitch ladders and use the real one in those last two HUDs. The other two strip indicators would be harder to replace ... one being (I think) altitude and the other being either air speed or mach.

You're absolutely right MARV, but then I'd lose the "TRUE TO THE ORIGIONAL" Aspect of the HUD.
ALT/AIRSPEED on the ones you're talking about. MACH is shown as "2.735M" at the BOTTOM LEFT of the HUD with the Exception of the A4 and F-105. There MACH is Displayed in the LEFT SIDE BOX. No Idea Why.
ALT/AIRSPEED are in the SIDE BOXES of the others.

These Pics are the Two Newest Ones, the A4 and the F-105 I Used tonight in Combat.

 I guess I like the Thud HUD the best ... fewer inoperable knobs and displays. Now if there was only a way to anchor it to the center location of the cockpit ... and then anchor the in-game HUD data as an overlay.

Please allow me to correct Michael there real quick: the cockpit Starbuck is referring to does come with one of the versions of my Silicum V2 mod, but has not been designed by me but by Maximillien. I was responsible for the design of the interface of said mod. ;)
From post: 162670, Topic: tid=10863, author=Marvin wrote::cool: I suppose, if you wanted to, you could delete the false pitch ladders and use the real one in those last two HUDs. The other two strip indicators would be harder to replace ... one being (I think) altitude and the other being either air speed or mach.
In fact I think that one could edit the hudtape.png file (the interactive pitch ladder) and bring the two ribbons closer together to fit inside the heads up display of the jet fighter mod. Although I haven't tried that before, I'm pretty confident it should work. If so, then you could delete the static pitch ladders like Marvin says, and end up with a really realistic look.

The most thorough way to go about this would be to take the graphics for the static pitch ladders out of the jet fighter's heads up displays, edit them to fit and make those the new hudtape.png file.
Too bad I don't have time to try it out.

By the way, nice work on these mods, Michael. Looking good there man.

Sorry For the Mistake VIPER My Friend and Thanks. I Like them Myself and Use them Against AI's. As for the PITCH LADDER, Great Idea but I Would Need to Create a "hud" folder for EACH HUD as the Pitch Ladder would be Required in Different Locations on Each REFLECTOR HUD.

As of Now I have ALL REFLECTOR HUDS in my Single "hud" Folder, Each simply Named "b2gun2-FXX".

This Way I Can Switch REFLECTOR HUDS as I Like without Hassle.

 The F-15 also has a compass display at the top of its HUD which could be swapped out.

P.S. JSGME would make easy work of switching out each pitch ladder.
