Hi,

One of my profiles isn't showing up in the profile manager page. This has happened since I had a crash to desktop when quiting the game (I think it crashed without saving).

In the main game folder I can see the profile (profile0.sw) but it's not on the profile list in-game.

I've tried the repair sequence of immediately clicking on exit when the game loads, and I've tried re-installing, but still the same.

Any ideas? Many thanks

My specs:

3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
1TB (7200 rpm) hard drive
AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory
running Windows 7 64bit

Installed physical memory: 4 GB
Available physical memory: 2.7 GB

Sounds like the profile got corrupted when you crashed. :( You could try renaming it and seeing if it appears

If it's an important one Vice might be able to recreate it for you.

Check to see if there are any other files with the same numerical value (ie pilot0.bak), then send the main file and any other with the same number to me via e-mail.

Thanks Dave and Vice. I hope it's possible to recover it as it was an important one! Worse is that I don't have a recent back up... in future I'm going to make regular back ups of my profiles!!!

@Vice, email sent

Windows seven has an automated recovery feature by default, especially on the main folders in the C: drive where the SW3DG folder is located.

Right click your game folder and click on properties-previous versions, there should be previous versions of your folder availiable to recovery, just pick one from a few hours or a few days before the corruption depending on whats availiable there.

This is how i recovered my save after deleting it by accident while trying to back it up, ironic...

Hope this helps as it did for me :)

Also the profile0.sw is profile #1 in game, are you saying you do not have a #1 profile showing in game?....

Maars that's correct. Jk-77 that's good tip I didn't know about... I'll try that and let you know what happens. In the meantime I have a slightly older profile from slot 2 that I can work back up again... so at least not a total disaster. From now on I'll be making very frequent back ups - lesson learned!

Thanks all for the help. :)
